RRL appoint Practice Director

Chartered Accountants and Chartered Tax Advisers RRL have announced that Office Manager Michelle Pearce has been promoted to Practice Director.

Michelle has played a crucial part in the Cornish firm’s recent growth. She has particularly focused on a people-first approach, championing people development and training, which has resulted in the firm receiving recognition at the Excellence in Business Training Awards and Cornwall Apprenticeship Awards in the last 12 months.

Michelle has been with RRL since 2015, having joined as Office Manager. Her experience working in both the public and private sector has proved invaluable to the firm as they continue to grow. Michelle will still oversee the smooth running of the office, while also maintaining the lead on the development of new systems and processes to push the firm forward with its plans for digital accounting.

Steve Maggs, RRL's Tax Partner, explained the value of Michelle's work to the firm:

"We are a Partner-led firm, and having someone like Michelle in the office ensures that Partners can devote our full attention to our clients, focusing on delivering a high quality added value service to all of our valued clients, from larger businesses to sole traders.

"This promotion recognises the growth of Michelle’s role since she joined the firm. She is an asset to the firm, leading the implementation of many sizeable and significant projects, and will be continuing to lead and implement significant projects in the future that enable us to keep developing/improving the performance of the business internally."

Nick Skerratt, also a Partner at the firm, said:

"With an expanding team and a growing business, all of the Partners felt that now was the right time to appoint Michelle to the new position of Practice Director, reflecting how invaluable Michelle has become to the firm since she joined.

"2018 has been a big year for RRL and one of significant growth for the firm. We have opened a new office in Penzance, launched a new website, expanded the firm’s probate offering and, most recently, had a new intake of four apprentices this summer, showing the firm’s ambition for the future. With the introduction of Making Tax Digital in April 2019 and some exciting projects planned for the firm next year, I fully expect the firm to keep forging ahead."

Michelle said about her promotion to Practice Director:

"I am absolutely thrilled about the promotion. I love working with the teams and the Partners; they are all so forward thinking so it makes my job easy, although no two days are ever the same. Watching the apprentices develop and take on important roles in the firm and taking the teams through the challenges of change has been so rewarding."
