Four businesses move in as riverside district continues to flourish

Newham & The Port of Truro is celebrating the relocation of four businesses to the riverside district.

Financial services company AFH Wealth Management, chartered building surveyor Cockrams Surveying Ltd, vehicle company Motor Parts Direct and windows specialist Safestyle UK have all recently moved to the business hub at the heart of Cornwall.

The businesses are now among more than 100 diverse firms based at Newham, from independent Cornish companies to large national organisations.

Mel Richardson, Newham BID Manager, said: "We are pleased to welcome these businesses to Newham. The district is an enticing location for companies thanks to its central location, strong community and state of the art broadband.

"Newham is a flourishing place to do businesses and we look forward to toasting the success of these firms, and the district, now and in the future."

AFH Wealth Management opened a branch in Newham this summer with company’s independent financial advisor Jonathon Wood relocating to the Truro district to allow him to expand his business and  meet with more clients. Being part of one of the largest financial services companies in the country, Jonathon is able to call on investment experts and research teams to deliver a top service to clients.

"Newham was the logical place for me," he said. “It is centrally located and has all the infrastructure and services I need. There are lots of innovative businesses here so the atmosphere is very positive and enthusiastic."

Cockrams Surveying Ltd offers everything from mundic testing and surveys on residential and commercial businesses to architecture services and valuations for private and corporate clients. The firm, headed by Colin Cockram, relocated to Newham because of its reasonable rental charges, modern buildings and parking facilities.

Safestyle UK has branches around the country and moved to Newham in the summer. As manufacturers and suppliers of windows and doors to the public and trade, the firm was keen to expand into the Cornish market with its new office in the heart of Truro.

Branch Manager, Chris Morley, said: “Safestyle has a reputation for honesty, integrity and providing a high quality product for domestic use.

"We are passionate about energy efficiency and the massive savings that our A rated product can bring to the family home alongside the aesthetically pleasing colour choice and door selections."
